2023 Elvio Tintero Langhe Nebbiolo – Italy
Marco Tintero farms in a charmingly-named commune called Mango, tucked into the rolling hills of the Langhe region of northern Italy. Often referred to as the 'king' of Italian red grapes, Nebbiolo produces serious, buttoned-up wines from the Langhe such as Barolo and Barbaresco. Think of this bottling as the prince — still regal, but playful and approachable. Lush, bright fruit meets dusty-soft tannin, and provides a delightfully quaffable counterpoint to either of the cheese-forward features this month.
