Lyrarakis Kotsifali Red, Crete, Greece

For this months Mediterranean inspired Lamb Ragu we have chosen a rare indigenous varietal from the island of Crete in Greece. The Lyrarakis family has been making wine on Crete for generations and is focused on indigenous grape varietals - so much so that they have succeeded in rescuing several grapes that were near extinction. The Lyrarakis Kotsifali is a bright and aromatic wine full of red cherries, smooth tannins, and wild, savoury herbs. Enjoy this wine with a slight chill with either our Spinach Cassarecce with Mediterranean Lamb Ragu or the Spaghetti Pepperonata.
