Clos Bellane is small domain located in the hills outside of Valreas in the Rhone Valley. This northerly part of the Southern Rhone has rolling hills with limestone soils. The domain sits at 400m above sea level. The altitude preserves the freshness in the wine. When Stephane Vedeau purchased Clos Bellane in 2010, he knew that the domain's unique terroir would best be shown by converting the vineyards to organic farming and a minimalist approach in the cellar. Gentle extraction, indigenous yeast fermentation, and concrete aging allows the grapes to truly shine. This 100% Syrah evokes aromas of cassis, cracked pepper, and violet.
